How do you feel that CS2 has no ADS?
You might laugh but the one reason I never tried or was interested in CS2, despite HL and HL2 being two of my favorite games ever, was that I hated the fact that we can't ADS in CS2.

Did that ever bother anyone else or was it a non issue for you?

You can aim down the sights. You just don't need a fancy animation to do it in this game. You are always aiming.

ADS is cool but not every game needs it.

It's stupid crouch shooter.

Clearly, judging by CS2's success I would agree with this. It's more of a personal gripe.

Only gen z needs to ADS. Real men shoot from the hip.

I mean, hold RMB to get locked in a half a second animation, decrease your fov, and reduce spread a little? What's the point. ADS has always been annoying to me, and in games that implement it, it feels like a feature that you're forced to use, because of how bad the gunplay feels if you don't. Kinda like block hitting with your sword in minecraft 1.8.9 and older, it's stupid, it's dumb, everyone hates it, you'll use it anyway.
In cs2 you get ADS for weapons that it makes sense with, snipers & 'cod guns'
How would it even be implemented for a game like counter strike?
Nerf the current state of the guns or buff them when using ADS?
In both cases, all it adds is a dumbass delay, before you shoot for no reason.

I play videos games for 30 years now and in shooter games, no matter which one, ads was always trash. Yeah it is more realistic but absolutely ruins the entire aim. That is one of multiple reasons why CS is a competitive eSports shooter and CoD, BF etc. are all games for casuals.

They should just make ads optional with every gun, period. But don't take away hip fire accuracy, so people can play in whatever style they want.
Non-ads fps games just feel so last gen.

To me, it doesn't make sense not to have it!
Surely you want a game to feel realistic, don't you?
For the sake of adding ADS to the game and making it an option, it eliminates this daft question. Plus, trying to play a FPS without ADS is so 90's
Sadly, it looks like I'm sticking with COD.

i think its not needed, not having ADS is kinda refreshing.

From the Valve PCGamer interview:

The contemporary mainstream FPS defaults towards "aim down sights" shooting, whereas in CS only guns with sights do that. Has the CS dev team ever considered a radical shakeup of the shooting basics, or do they think these classic principles will stand another ten years?

We'd probably think about it in the opposite direction: what problem does aiming downsights solve, and do we have that problem? On consoles, ADS is a great solution to the difficulty of aiming with a controller. You can hide an auto-aim snap to the enemy in the transition, reduce controller sensitivity to make aiming easier, etc. But those aren't gameplay/input problems that PC players have and, more importantly, it's not something our players are expressing any concern about. So we don't have any plans to change the basics in CS2.
