why is 1280x960 the god fov?
i keep seeing people say "1280x960 is the best 4:3 stretched res" and im wondering why is it, why not something lower or higher?

It's not. They are trolling you.

It's referred to as god res because literally any chip can play at 1280x960. Literally any chip.

Most pro's play at 1080p or 1440p because of the precision + high refresh rates.

This is an excellent resolution; I used to play with it on a regular basis. Now I am using a custom resolution of 1920x1440, this resolution has the same fov and mouse sensitivity as 1280x960, I recommend trying it.
