Cant get ranked in cs2,

so ive been playing comp, and on my last game it said "Win 5 more matches" But after I played and lost a match again, it all of sudden says "WIn 8 more matches" How do I fix this?

Competitive is based on what map you have 10 wins, each map has its individual rank now.
Premier is where you get your actual ranking, since its a fair way to calculate your performance in counter strike and not just nuke or mirage, displayed in neat numbers so that you know where you are at

yes, you can. As Lemon explained, there are two kinds of ranks now. If you play competitive mode, you will get your (different) rank for each of the maps; like silver2 on dust2 at the same time that you may get gold nova 3 on cache. Apart from that (competitive mode), you got your premier mode rank. This rank is not applied to each map differently, but is something more likely how the older rank system used to work. That in the sense that you win points by winning (independently from which map you played) and lose by losing (

Just got it....

Won 21 matched in competitive and didnt get a cs rank only map rank. I didnt realize that primier was a different mode...

Also seems like you can't chose a map that but its random, is this true, if so i must play the maps i don't know first.
