GPU fans going crazy! Need help to troubleshoot please.
Hi all, I have experienced a horror 2 times now from playing CS2 and this has never happened to me before when I played CSGO.
I had this happened to me before in Overwatch but that was on a bad PC and ever since i have changed my specs, i never got it again.
This time it is on CS2 for some reason.
My screen would freeze and all fans would go crazy like a helicopter is near my house.

My specs:
GPU - RTX 3060ti Vision OC
CPU - Ryzen 7 5700X
Ram - G.Skill RipJaws 32 gb (2x16)
PSU - SilverStone 600W (80+ white)
CPU Cooler - Thermalright Assassin x 120 R SE
Motherboard - Rogstrix B550-A Gaming

you can also try renewing GPUs thermal paste, maybe it can't cool it down effectively now, here's a tutorial https://youtu.be/Rx-GIQj0BA0?si=DY5vbw94jlDuFCV5 also you can try reverting your overclock (that's if you overclocked)

Try monitoring your temp using software like MSI Afterburner and see if it's too high. I've had loud fan issue with my 1660ti. Turns out that it's running on 87-89 °C on high loads. The issue was gone after replacing the thermal paste, it now runs silent on 67 °C even with full load. The stock paste was just so bad.

I really wanna say nvidia moment for all the trolls out here but i will try to help instead. It might be thermal issues, run furmark and keep an eye on the temps. Could also be cpu thermals. Do you get any artifacting before the crash(random pixels blinking, texture errors, just not a normal picture ect..)?

I will try that probably but the thing is how can CS2 make my temps bump up that high despite playing on low except shader detail is high.
I am trying to wrap my head around this one.

I will try that. How do you get overlay of RivaTuner appear on CS2?
I know it wasn't working on csgo.

It's working in csgo & cs2 for me. But sometimes it doesn't show up. Just ensure that the "Show in On-Screen Display" checkbox is checked in MSI Afterburner settings, in "Monitoring" tab.
If it still doesn't show up, you can try monitoring the temps with other GPU intensive games like newer Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs Legion, etc.

It's just now GPU has something to work on. A lot of people were CPU bottlenecked in CSGO, making GPU not really reach any serious load. Now drawing frames puts some stress on the card, and if you draw a lot of them - you get a hot, hard working card. Making it louder. Generally I wouldn't look at it as an issue. Limit your frames or use less aggressive fan profile if it bothers you.

Restricting FPS to monitor's refresh rate will basically help, right?
I guess my GPU is not much of a performer in today's standard.
Thanks for helping out.
So far, reducing setting, capping frames and doing proper maintenance are the possible solutions for me.

I will keep these in mind.

if you still havent solved it, I had a similar problem where my pc screen would go dark and my pc fans started spinning like crazy, I had to clear my CMOS for it to stop happening

This is all due to your graphic hardware driver settings , not the game. What has this to do with CS2 ?

PPl already suggest operations lmao.

First of all, do you use Nvidea experiance?
do you have the same problem with other games?
have you tempered with your gpu in bios already?
Did you already tempered on ANYTHING that might be the cause?

if you want help treat it like talking to your lawyer, if you did something tell us if you already tried something, tell us.

Are you really trying to help a person with certain problem when we all know that he doesn't even make an effort to check in Google search what can be causing his problem ?

Google is one if not THE worst point you can go to to find technical problems. and if you ever tried that you knew that.
