Why don't csgo players like stat trak?
I come from tf2 and have been watching ohnepixels videos since i like warpaints and skins.
I noticed how stat trak was consistently talked about being inferior.

In TF2 strange (our stat trak) weapons are seen a straight upgrade and on skins the value of the skin is increased by 10x.

are kills counted not sought after by counter strike players? I'm super curious.

Stat track weapon skins are good because they have higher value
On the other hand they are bad because low number of kills on a weapon means it is either recently obtained or low skill on it

Knives are the ones where people don’t want stat trak because the number of kills is engraved in the knife and that destroys the skin and makes it look bad, and the price of stat traks and regular knifes is about the same, so here you go

I hope this answers ur question
so just to be crystal clear.

guns: its good

knives: its bad
Exactly! Because basically stat trak on guns is just there, but on knives it is engraved in the skin and so it looks worse than regular skin

some people dont like stattrak on their knives as it scratches it and thats why some knives stattrak variants arent much more expensive than non stat so long as its not incredibly rare

there are only 2 camps of cs go players.
1) those who fell in love during 1.6 because of custom mods, high game mod-ability and community servers
2) started with cs:go crowd.

as far as 1) crowd goes, 80% of players couldn't care less about any type of monetization in game. It's stupid, exploitative and bad for cs itself (because instead of learning how to code anti-cheat valve releases skins, gets money and never fixes the game).

as for 2) enjoy your pet capsules and clothing slots in cs go 2. im sure it wont be a micro transaction, cheater paradise.

Also:
you can;t even community trade in cs go anymore with the restrictions on traded items.
LMOA, and people stand for that, if in TF2 they did that, people would leave the game and it would die. Look at tf2 lobbies and how many trade servers there are.

just look at trading to knife-from nothing videos. 5 years ago I was able to trade from redline (6e at the time) to cheapest 45e knife in 6 months.
Youtubers, who make trading for knife videos literally have it year-by-year basis and the time has increased in the past years by insane amount of hours (which makes sense because on trade you get 7 day can't do nothing freeze on item).

EDIT: I love TF2 trading, but man they know that if they did the same trade restriction in that game like they did on cs, people wouldn't stand for that.

yeh, but in highsight, cs go updates to skin/capsule/new operator skins updates ratio has always been ~25-1 or so it feels.
They literally are releasing cs go 2 with the same maps, same everything, except new look and of course new capsules. Would people go play TF3 if it was like TF2 but brighter?

YESSSSSSS.

new engine will be seen a new quality of life improvement with better optimization since in some maps will get you down to below 60fps in a 2007 game.

sorry i dont mean to play oppression olympics on who has it worse but, yes we would absolutely be over the moon about tf2 in source 2

Well we can't tell for sure, but the gaming market so far concluded that Overwatch 2 (which is Overwatch 1 basically) failed.

Cs go 2 has been data mined for nonsense such as pets, pet_capsules, clothing_slots, so only time will tell how this story will go, but at the moment based on facts that have happened I am willing to bet that it wouldn't go down that well...
