Mouse Cursor is Invisible in CSGO Menus
I have been troubleshooting this problem with CSGO for several weeks now to no avail, and could really use some help.

The issue is that my mouse cursor is invisible in game (CSGO), making it extremely challenging to select game modes, use steam friends list, marketplace, even buying guns in game, etc.

For background, I got a new computer about a month and a half ago and freshly installed CSGO and everything was great. On launch it booted into fullscreen mode and was working perfectly.

On May 5th, I was recording a video where I was tabbing between my browser and game, and chose to switch the game to Fullscreen Windowed mode to make the switching more smooth.

Once I switched the game back to Fullscreen mode my mouse cursor disappeared and it has been a big issue ever since.

When this first happened, restarting my computer fixed the cursor issue temporarily, only for it to return in the middle of a game randomly. Now it seems like it is a permanent issue that I never even get temporary relief from.

I feel like I have tried everything. Searching for similar issues online have yielded the following solutions that I have tried and have not worked:
1. turn off fullscreen optimizations for the game in windows
2. turn off cursor trails
3. use system recommended zoom settings for display (for this computer it's 100%)
4. verifying game files
5. changing to large cursor setting
6. using command line to run the following commands (this was working to resolve the issue for a couple days but then stopped):
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
Sfc /Scannow
7. I have tried changing my resolution

Two days ago I contacted support and when they got back to me yesterday they told me that it might be a game configuration issue. I deleted all my config folder files and launched the game, and it defaulted to fullscreen windowed mode. When I changed to fullscreen, the cursor was invisible again.

I uninstalled CSGO and reinstalled it. When I first launched it, it launched into fullscreen windowed mode, and when I changed to fullscreen the cursor disappeared again.

I uninstalled CSGO and Steam and reinistalled both. When I launched CSGO, it launched into fullscreen windowed mode, and when I changed to fullscreen the cursor was invisible again.

I contacted steam support again with the new information and they just handwaived it away as a hardware issue that they could not troubleshoot. However, clearly the issue is a software issue as it was the fullscreen windowed mode change that I made on 5/5 that began everything, and the hardware is all brand new with up to date drivers and was working perfectly until I toggled this video option.

So that takes me to today, where I am humbly reaching out to you, steam community, to help with this issue. If one of you has had this issue and solved it in a way other than the above, please help!

I am also wondering if there are some residual registry files or other saved configuration files that are surviving the uninstall that if I remove may get me back to the initial state when I first installed steam on the clean machine, so I can get back to the pre 5/5 state.

I know this is long but I wanted to include as much detail as possible to maximize the potential of a solution.

Please help!

Did you find a fix

I fixed it temporarily by going to my video settings and changing the display mode from Fullscreen to Fullscreen Windowed.

Unfortunately this means you cannot adjust your aspect ratio, resolution, or refresh rate. Yet I have tried every other method and they didn't do anything.

Valve please fix.
