Short matches vs Long matches?

Which one is better for ranking up?

I would assume it's pretty equal in terms of the time it takes.

Both weigh the same effectively, because the ranking system (probably, no one knows for certain other than the developers themselves) takes into account each round that passes as a point win or point loss. In a short match you can have up to 9 positive ELO, in a long match 16, but technically, each round is as long as any other, so you're left pretty much with what you think you can capitalize better on - quicker matches, or longer ones.

in my 10+years of csgo i am enclined to think the same about this. but nobody knows for sure is he treu answer.

I also think individual points, k/d, and adr matter more then just kills. i think kills are overrated by most in elo changement. Many greedy idiots trying to rush for kills and then leaving team to die but it wont get you higher rank, i think.

Offtopic, i'd rather play 2 short matches than 1 long match. I start losing focus half way through a long match.

Both are great if you feel like you dont have that much time or if you cant focus an hour -> short games are your way to go and long matches if you feel the competitive vibe with smoke and some extra rounds if you mess up with your team :)

It doesnt take an hour more like 40-45 mins but imo in long matches its easier to win cuz you have chances to fix the loss
