Might be wishful thinking but Gabe himself has brought up AI to detect cheating in CS:GO and Dota a couple years ago. I know Vacnet already uses AI to an extent, I just feel that they're going to try and compete with 'Kernel level anti-cheat' with a more advanced non-invasive one of their own.
I don't think Valve will ever introduce any form of invasive anti-cheat like Valorant has. While AI will most likely be the advanced non-invasive form of anti-cheat available.
Please explain your point of "Basically, because developers make money off cheaters and so they think thats what the consumer base wants." ????
its actually quite the opposite. the more cheaters that valve bans, the more money valve makes. in banned cheaters making alt accounts and purchasing Prime at 15$ a pop.
Also, every cheater with skins who gets banned removes the supply of skins making the growing demand even stronger with a lower supply of skins. Supply and Demand. Driving an increased demand for cases, keys and skins on the market, which valve makes money on each and every transaction of those 3.
dw, i'll wait.
it will give you the illusion tho, cheaters just can't be roaming around playing that obv anymore but this wont stop em.
lots of games have tried to rely only on server side detection like stat tracking, recording view angles analyzing behaviors etc but in the end the cheaters adapted to it so much so that legit players were also getting banned.
it's solid but only a part of the solution. there will be always a need for client side protection
Wouldn't say thats true how can they make money when having vac up cost much much much much more then 15 euro from a user, then we have to talk about staffing the anti cheat so now we are really high up on the number, vacnet they talk about cost a lot to build and mainten, same with vac.
A small company can't afford a anti cheat BC they will go broke and shut down.
For valve it's small money BC they get in so much money from other source but saying that csgo make profit on cheaters are false they would have gone so much profit if the people didn't cheat BC then they don't need a anti cheat and they don't need to staff people to update it and stuff like that.
Short answer no they don't go profit on cheaters.
I think if you add that ai to csgo sommany people will be false banned, that's the problem with ai you really need to take the time to learn. I can't say what's better vac or anybrain but BC vac it's not a ai.
