Anyone else feel like the skill based matchmaking is being really weird?

Ever since I took a break, the highest I ever was was silver 2, and i'm still learning the game. Now that I'm playing again, i'm silver 4 and get matches against an entire game full of gold nova 4 players, instantly dying every peek and getting votekicked out for "throwing."

git gud or wait until the CS2 is out and play then?

Match making has been like this for years

Sadly they have not done anything about it, they did do some updates that "improved" the match making but if anything it made it worse. I was mg2 and was put against globals and lems almost every game while my team mates were silver and maybe nova master at the highest. I'm now down into silver elite master due to losing each game even though I was on top of the team.

This is just something that you either have to accept or to fix this issue find 4 other people/friends that are willing to play with you all the time which will then make your rank go higher if you are all good enough to win and work together. This game also has a toxic player base at times, I have been kicked for no apparent reason and de-ranked from being kicked even though later on I went back and found out my team won.

My highest win streak is 16 and still did not rank up on my 17th game I lost and de-ranked. There are so many issues and now they are making csgo 2 which people are hoping they fix them issues but from what I'm seeing they are not caring about fixing any match making issues and are just adding more graphics and better things overall to help gameplay but nothing that will fix ranked issues.

As stated if you really want a true fun csgo experience you have to be a god that can either carry every game to a win no matter how bad you team, which is not always fun, or find some friends which as a solo myself I don't care to find friends for any game now days as most of them don't try for the win and end up trolling or just are not at the same skill level.

Typically poorly matched lobbies result in not enough players playing in your region. This happens to me after 10pm on week days.

So you too are also aware of the BS plagueing this game, you just choose to accept it or be a god which yes can be a pain when no one else contributes to the team. Good to know there is others who notice this crap, sometimes I try to get back into comp but quickly remember how most of the community is toxic POS's.
So are you saying that cs in the competitive area is dead even with these new updates, unless you are lucky to find a good group who has nothing better to do than csgo all day you're hooped when it comes to having a fair competitive game. Unless of course you find the team of wallers which there are plenty most comp games

I would not say the game is dead at all as there is a large amount of people always playing this game, but I will say it's not a great game to show someones true skill by what rank they are, as well... the ranking system has so many issues. All I'm saying is if you somehow find a team that plays 24/7 and is good at gaming all the issues in the game are pretty much non existent. Otherwise for a solo queue you have to face the fact that game is pretty ♥♥♥♥.

Well csgo pretends to be competitive game. If we frow cheaters out of equation, it means get good or get out formula.

Tbh there is a litlle difference between silver and nova. If you pretend to rank up you should be able to deal with novas. Otherwise you beling in silver.

novas can be retired grandpas with 300iq but below avg aim, or insane aim kiddos with 25iq. Not the same as silver at all.

The only thing you can do is playing at times when a lot of others are on, so the game can match you with people of your rank. Obviously, this won't fully solve it, but that's on Valve.

yeah, i'm gonna try and play when I think more people will be on. after making this thread I upranked two times to Silver elite master. (playing a handful of comp short matches) I think I got less than a TOTAL of 10 kills/assists lmao

thanks all for casting your viewpoints, glad i'm not the only one experiencing this.
starting to feel like I was ranking up so many times because apparently 2-5 kills on gold nova 4 players as a silver 4 gave me like 90000 ELO points or something

yeah i have had the same issue, im silver 2 right now in vertigo with under 200 hours of play time and im getting out in comp matches with people that have 9000 hours i genuinely cant get any kills if even hit the enemy team

i aint even that good at the game still, im always at the bottom of the score board in the comp matches and i get completely thrashed by people with like 5 week overload streaks and 5 service medals or some ♥♥♥♥ and i cant do anything about it so it makes it impossible for me to rank up or get any better
