If you get into the beta and you accept it and want to download cs2 it will be around that. Regular csgo it's around 30 GB. I have testet csgo on Linux I haven't have any problem but I stop played it on Linux BC many games are not supported or the game it's supported but not the anti cheat.

that's what i thought, valve's repository config oversight i guess, still kinda weird that valve wouldn't support the very own platform they are using to expand their business but whatever...

recently i got to play hunt showdown on linux because of the deck (otherwise devs would never mark that damn easy anti-cheat checkbox on their servers)

They don't really know what OS you're using or have access to so they pushed it out for everyone that was eligible.

It's still in very early beta testing phase and it's easier to get feedback from windows users first since there are way more people using that. Beta testing for linux will probably start later once they have a native port ready. Valve has always supported linux natively and a native port will take longer.

It's a beta so I think they just want people with windows to found the problem with that first BC most off the csgo users are windows, having beta for both windows and Linux at the same time would maybe be a bit to much for them.

You're not very knowledgeable on the subject. Even microsoft themselves use linux and the entire internet itself, including game servers, all run on linux as well. Valve's steamdeck is also running on linux. Even android phones are all running on linux.

Many company use Linux for the web base, but the work they do are using windows, it's just much more stable and support for hosting stuff on Linux and it's use a live kernal so restarting the server BC off a update it's really rare so the downtime it's much better then windows that will force your computer to update after 7 days off a pause that mostly likely need a restart after that.

native-ish, since they still use dxvk for some games including csgo as of now, but you are right its mostly native.

i agree partially because "most off the csgo users are windows" is kinda the point of contention when talking about linux support, i'm still feeling left behind playing this on linux...

Use dual boot then if you can't wait hehe. But not many people are playing CSGo on Linux for a good reason but I hope some day that Linux will get more support from big companies like nvida so they can apply drivers for them and stuff like that.

cs2 its playable if you run steam through wine instead of natively, doesn't run great though.

Maybe but if you want to feel the full game play experience I would just go with windows for now. If you are that guy that doesn't like everything it's doing just make your own ios file for windows I have done that so I don't get any apps or not even allowing windows to collect data.
