If you get into the beta and you accept it and want to download cs2 it will be around that. Regular csgo it's around 30 GB. I have testet csgo on Linux I haven't have any problem but I stop played it on Linux BC many games are not supported or the game it's supported but not the anti cheat.
It's still in very early beta testing phase and it's easier to get feedback from windows users first since there are way more people using that. Beta testing for linux will probably start later once they have a native port ready. Valve has always supported linux natively and a native port will take longer.
Many company use Linux for the web base, but the work they do are using windows, it's just much more stable and support for hosting stuff on Linux and it's use a live kernal so restarting the server BC off a update it's really rare so the downtime it's much better then windows that will force your computer to update after 7 days off a pause that mostly likely need a restart after that.
cs2 its playable if you run steam through wine instead of natively, doesn't run great though.
Maybe but if you want to feel the full game play experience I would just go with windows for now. If you are that guy that doesn't like everything it's doing just make your own ios file for windows I have done that so I don't get any apps or not even allowing windows to collect data.
