I GOT SCAMMED (PLS READ)

Okay so after a bit of research, I believe my account was hijacked after using CSGO Float
or one of those websites in an attempt to sell my items.

Basically whilst browsing steam point shop, my whole steam froze for a sec and then I notice my name was changed.
Someone impersonating a 'Manager David' started messaging me instantly after and told me I was vac banned for attempted scam and apparently had been reported 13 times.
I check my account and it was wiped, nothing appeared on my profile apart from the new username: '76561198381261541' and the VAC ban notification.
By this point i'm pretty shook and start reading what 'Manager David' is messaging me, he had at this point deactivated my games and DLCs, I DONT KNOW HOW but he did.
I checked my library and all my games said 'Purchase' instead of the play button.

So now this 'Manager David' explains that my items need to be verified as not being scammed from someone else or along those lines, essentially this is where the scam took place.
He told me to name a friend out of my friend list, I couldnt access it so I had to name one from my head, and I chose my friend Dootbert.
He then said I needed to trade my items to him in order for the items to show up in his 'logs' or something, I think he was referring to my trade history but yeah.
He basically politely blackmailed me into doing this saying things like: 'If you dont comply then I will have to perma ban your account' and 'Scamming people is a serious violation of the rules' or something like that.

I was worried as I thought it would be funny to see what would happen if I counter offer a trade bot from a website in offer for its skins for none of my own. Obviously it didn't work but for this I was actually worried I was gonna get banned.

He also said that doing the trade wouldn't actually trade my items and I was sceptical but clearly not enough.

So yeah you can guess the rest.
Made the trade and at first my items stayed for a few hours, but then they were gone.

After the trade was done my games and all my stuff got reactivated and the VAC ban disappeared.
I'm really not sure to how this person had the assets to pull off something like that, but It happened to me and so it can happen to you.

Be safe when it comes to trading and ALWAYS ask questions.

Why would valve warn you if a vac ban or trade ban etc?

You used your steam credentials to log into 3rd party sites, your credentials were stolen and they logged into your account and made the changes.

Yes I realise how obvious it looks and the VAC ban thing showed on my account just as any other VAC ban on any other account. but after the trade it was gone

csgo float is a legit site you must have been on a fake

Sometimes I wonder how could people fall for such obvious fake impersonators and spoofed web pages, then I am reminded of the average CSGO player.

I only used csgo float and caseopening.com which both have 5 stars on trust pilot
