CS2 Servers - How it works and what to improve

Right now the main issue with CS2 is "Europe Offensive" - Servers are only located in the northern-westen part of europe meaning balkans are at 30-40 ms latency, turkey, belorussia and israel 50 and more. Some regions of russia are lucky to get 90 ms.

The game netcode does not have latency optimizations as CSGO. So when latency is bad, the image comes in in chunks meaning stuttering, lag and teleporting enemies.

Also performance to same server is depending on time of day, meaning Bare Metal servers are being used. Baremetal is a best option for game server, but not when it is overloaded.

If you buy VPN, then you have more direct route to servers. Usually this route is provided by Content Delivery Network or CDNs. Obviously paid CDN gives better latency than Valve free one. Valve gives 5-6 ping more than paid VPN.

All those issues can be resolved with few simple steps for Valve:
- Create more servers further away from Frankfurt. Europe is greatly optimised, but there is a reason people from Turkey play on Europe region and not South Korea.
- Use Cloud Providers like AWS, Azure and Google. Their coverage will greatly improve reach for users.
- Keep using baremetal servers, but Rent them depending on time of day. Buying might save money in the long run, but so far in 12 years no new servers have been deployed further than Austria.
- Invest in CDN. Obviously that does not make sense to pay more for a free to play game, but actually it does to improve quality of the game.

If those steps are not taken and we see ocean of optimizations, overall game quality will stay same or lower of CSGO for people outside of European Union.
If Valve is playing hard against Valorant, things listed need to absolutely be taken care of.
As for me, I never wanted to change the game of choice more, than after release of subtick system that makes the game even harder for me with over 80 ping and just 240 hz on the screen.

Ok after playing a little more I made an executive desision to uninstall CSGO and play Valorant for the first time. Good job valve, hope your salary won't suffer at least you saved money on servers for your game.

I tried every possible fix in the book, the game is unplayable from my region, but Valorant have servers in the neighbouring country where experience is amazing.
