If Valve added forced anticheat to CS2 like Valorant's Vanguard, how would you react?
In case you don’t know, Valorant has a built in forced anti-cheat called Vanguard which means it needs kernal / root level access to your computer and you always need it running in order to play the game (yes, you can disable it but you need to restart your computer before you can play the game).

Imagine if Valve went serious against cheaters and added their own version to CS2. How would you react?

If Valve added a strong anti-cheat system to CS2 similar to Vanguard in Valorant, I would welcome this move. Cheating is a frustrating problem in online games, and it's essential to maintain a fair and equitable gaming environment for all players. However, I would also be concerned about potential privacy issues and the system's impact on system performance. Valve would need to clarify how the system works, the data it collects, and ensure user privacy while minimizing any impact on game performance.

I'd be a bit concerned, I've never touched Valorant and never planning on doing so. However, even if they implement such anti-cheat running on low level, there will always be cheaters in abundance.

the problem is valorant also has cheater just like cs
the "future" of anti cheat wont be in detecting programs/scripts or whatever else that people use but in analysing the actual gameplay to detect inhuman input/behavior
using gameplay behavior is way more effective because the anticheat doesnt need to "detect" 10000 different cheat programs/methods it just needs to learn cheat patterns in gameplay ( valve most likly used overwatch to feed such ai )

Valorant still has cheaters even with their trash anti cheat...they even had them in the beta...took a group a couple of hours and they had a working cheat for valorant that they rolled out :lunar2019laughingpig: so...Unfortunately no anti cheat will be able to stop all cheats forever but it makes it harder sure

i dont understand what are they doing. today im thinking they do not all what they can do against cheaters. Its so easy, using google, searching cheats (free and paid). understand how they work. built in anti cheat - lets go. im not a pc pro, but its only thinking about it. When you know how cheats work and load in the game, you can easy fix the anti cheat to protect. But im thinking they are smile at us, and get more and more money for new accounts and everything :)

It wouldnt change much, VAC doesn't need to run in Kernel as they proved several times when they banned ring0 cheats in the past. Forcing anticheat to run in kernel mode just for the sake of it is scummy decision and Riot games only did for PR.

Its funny that people always mention Valorant / Vanguard when soo many games have kernel level AC.

If they use AnyBrain they would not have to implement such a AC? and it will be alot more efficient, because it's behaviour based.

https://anybrain.gg/

Before the launchof their company ( wich is a serious project), they ask for audits to make a study about cheaters in online FPS gaming, to see if they had a buisiness market to target, that says that 1 on 3 players is using cheats in the game. This has been crossed with cheat online shops benefits and the number of players + number of active sell /day plus other officials cheat statistics.

So you can very seriously consider you have 30% of cheaters in cs, more or less blatant, more or less smart, and more or less toggles on/off, sometimes on, sometimes off, sometimes only when losing, sometimes only if they see another cheater in front, sometimes only a WH... or they use it not every game, etc etc. But they use it, that's all.

So no need to use a kernel, just need to take a little bit of the risk and add another layer of control on top on VAC.

But they will never do, the goal is to have the cheapest game, for the max benefit, and as LAN are safe, they absolutely don't care about online scene sanity.

So, enjoy your cheaters for ever.

The last solution would be to pay an extra for premimum Face It or premimum Esea, because their AC is a bit more efficient and updated, but not so much too.

CHeers!
( Ho and trust factor has nothing to do with the frequency you see cheaters, just in case ;) )

im sure it is not random that valve cant do anything against cheater. they dont wanna do this. everyone who say, valve vac is good and they bann cheater etc try only to good talk his game. yeah they bann cheater but only 2/10 i would say. they make so much money, from new prime accounts, cheater who try to hide with buying skins. People have to know how to use google and brain. You can find free and pay cheats in 10 sec. When you use your brain you can make it undetectable. !! just reading in cheater forums, its all open and all free. you can read everything learn everything and do all what do you want. So , VAC can do this too, learn how cheats work, how to build and load to game. It can be easy, but money is more important then little steam csgo users who cry against cheater :D When random guys can write a cheat, vac can easy do protect everything. And now, think abput why they dont.. !
