Nah, it makes sense. For you to even be able to make a surrender vote you need to be 1 man down. So it's already a 4v5, if one guy doesn't want to play then it becomes a 3v5.
No point in dragging it out, it's not like you pressed a funny accept button and agreed to play the full match.

Also now a griefer can get someone banned and then surrender the game for a quick loss without having to get 2~3 people banned, making both deranking and griefing much easier. Valve clearly intended to make it easier for griefers to throw games with this. Great that they're looking out for the smaller groups of players, who are clearly not bad actors. /s

On a more serious note, idk what valve was smoking when they made it this way. It was obviously going to get abused. Let's hope they fix this soon.

Valve have made numerous poor decisions with CS2. The rating system is an absolute mess for example but forcing a surrender in a 4v5? Ridiculous. It also doesn't even need to be called. It will prompt you with a surrender button automatically so RIP if someone thinks it's a timeout.

What you said is beyond stupid. A troll can easily have 2 accounts, just to ruin someone's day if they're willing to do it. Why do you think some people have like 30 csgo accounts? They hack in the game for fun get banned and buy another one. Even with CS's implementation of cooldown there are still many accounts out there with prime sold.

Literally I can just queue in a game with 2 accounts, abandon with the first one then surrender vote with the other.

Its such an easily abused mechanic and this discourages players to "try" and encourages more trolls.

I also created a post on this topic yesterday. In two days, I have encountered a similar case 5 times. Moreover, I do not know why, but we confidently won all 5 games in four and that's when the score became about 12-9 or 11-8 in our favor, one of the team voted for the surrender. Stupid system, I hope it will be fixed.
In the end, such a player will not even try to play, so there will be no point in him. It's not the players who are to blame in the first place, but the matchmaking system. People don't want to tolerate it. That's why they go out.

Just had two guys deny vote kicks on each other while they damage the other 3 of us at the start of every round. Then, at 11-8, one leaves and the other votes to surrender a won game. That's the issue. Two people can, and will twice now in my first 15 games of cs2 abuse this to ensure their team loses. Its BS

hmm If Valve should do something smart, then you should be able to surrender yourself, so that the surrender dont count for the rest of the players, only the guys that surrender !

When people surrender it is 3 things that makes them surrender !

1. Alot better team like you are defeated 12 - 0 or some and wiped out very fast
2. Cheaters that ruin their gameplay experience
3. Private matters that does that their not able to play the full match because of AFK, so they surrender so their not banned for being griefers with +left or some !
