Fixed all my CS2 problems by doing the following:


I tried every fix I could find on Reddit, YouTube, TikTok... and I think I finally solved it.

1. Clear Shader Cache
Open the Windows search bar, type "Disk Cleanup", and run it.
Check the box for DirectX Shader Cache and click OK.
Follow the prompts to delete the files.

2. Restart your computer

4. Verify Game Files
Open Steam, right-click on CS2 > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
Let that run in the background while doing the next steps.



Optional (but helped me too):
I removed everything from my autoexec, except for my key binds (grenades, etc.).
New location for autoexec:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg

UPDATE !!!!!!!! : Still getting 1% Low FPS drops? Try this!

Force Shader Precompilation via Steam Console:

Step 1: Open the hidden Steam console
This works in any version of Steam:
Copy this: steam://open/console

Paste it into your browser’s address bar (Chrome, Edge, etc.)

Hit enter and allow it to open in Steam
→ The Console tab in Steam should now be open

Step 2: Run the precompilation
In the Steam console, paste this:
shader_build 730
Press Enter.

Then, launch CS2 and run around in a practice match for a few minutes.
Let Steam build your shaders while you grab a coffee or snack.

Enjoy the smoother performance!

Have they finally made CS2 just as good as CSS or is CS2 still 20 years behind being good? I uninstalled CS2 it was so bad compared to CSS I could not enjoy that free CS2 garbage it's so bad. It was such an abomination upon launch. Just to spite Valve I think I will literally pirate a copy of Half-Life 3 when it comes out in 2036 but that will probably mostly be due to cost of living prices if you all keep voting democrats.

So what to do in my case where I dont have "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive and completely delete the folder titled "directx_installer". map/or file at all in this place?
Cant find it anywhere in my CS folder.

Ah okej, tho I did try to delete the "DirectX shader Cache" but it didn not help. My fps is still dropping to under 130fps when playing. and my GPU is a 3080. Same when i tried with a RTX5700 it was also under 150fps

Then your CPU is Bottleneck your System.
Go to your Windows Power Options and set the Power Plan to "High Perfomance"

Great you are trying to fix how you are not having fun with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ free game. Once CS:GO went to go CS2 the game got into to much of that Fortnite territory and I had to uninstall it and have not looked back. It's unfortunate but CounterStrike-Source is still the best CS game.
I really did not enjoy much of the 60 hours spent on cs:go before it became CS:crap. However I still have almost 500 hours on CSS because that's a great game.
People still play new games? You might as well buy a Tesla or any other electric powered car it's the same thing as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ loot box games or CS2.
Exspensive outright and way to costly in the long run.

1.6 > CSS

Sure, I did play a little bit of 1.6 before CSS. But if you've even tried to play the CS2 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ today, keep with 1.6. I enjoy CSS still. CS2 just sucks at all levels. It was amazing upon the CS2 release how bad the game was. I playedit for 2 days and had to uninstall it even though I had it installed for 2 years prior. CS2 is complete garbage.

CS2 is deceptive garbage. Look at it this way. They built CS:go over 15 years and got all those ratings and player base based upon a slowly built game. Then they erased it all and built a new game based upon old player game ratings and loyalty. Valve literally did a small "pyramid scheme" or "bait and switch" on everyone. It really isn't CS2. It's more like "we haven't made a good game since 2012 so let's deceptively rename a game from 2012 and try to fool people into thinking it's a new game." Look I understand the reason I live in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ overpriced state as Valve. Being deceived by people, the government, and your criminals is normal in WA state and everyone goes along with it.
However, I choose not to do so.
