why am I only allowed to win 2 competitive matches and then I get a 20 hour cool down?

I never play competitive so I was unranked but now I want to get my rank to try cs2 but when I win two games I get a 20 hour cool down this has been going on since friday and I though I would be able to win 10 games throughout the weekend but I guess not

I dont think people are reporting me because I have been getting a lot of kills and I havent said anything remotley rude to anyone and my other team mates have been nice for the most part as well

so what could be causing the cooldown every two wins? im guessing its so people cant just make new accounts and go from unranked to ranked in one day to combat smurfs and cheaters

was like this in csgo as well. 2 wins every 20 hours.

they do that to place you in your skill group but after you win your 10 ranked matches that wont happen anymore

Everyone has to go through this when they first get a rank. Once you get 10, the calibration cooldowns stop.

Unfortunately, ties count towards the cooldown, but not towards your win total.

This is expected behavior.

The Skill Placement cooldown was added back in November 2014.

New players may win two Competitive matches in 24 hours

New players may win 2 Competitive matches in 24 hours before receiving an intentional Competitive cooldown. This cooldown exists to limit the impact new accounts can have on Ranked and Unranked matchmaking.

After 10 Competitive wins the new player cooldown is removed and there is no limit to the number of Competitive wins you may earn in 24 hours.

You don't necessarily need to rush. I lost my rank waiting for CS2 and I got it back Sep 2nd. I did not get an invite yet so its likely coming in waves. If I had to guess the next patch Tuesday or Thursday might be the deadline, but there is not much info on this.
