Counter-Strike 2

Counter-Strike 2

Statistiche:
They are turning CS2 into VALORANT, AND ITS BAD
why god

some ideas are good, a lot are bad

i like being able to sell guns,
i like being able to swap out the loadout for all guns (having both m4a4 and m4a1, etc)

i dont like the match length change
i dont like the game ending animations (cringe dramatic action hero stances like each one has a stereotypical personality)
i dont like the player character skins and voice stuff, i wish we could disable them client side
i dont like the new buy menu, i prefer radial
i dont like the drastic reduction in the amount of guns you can choose from
i dont like the awp mag reduction
i dont like the valorant-esque polish and flair, i prefer gritty and mature cs, not lighthearted cartoony cs
i dont like the 4 stack limitation

some of these changes appear to be non solutions to previous problems, what makes these non solutions is that they create problems without solving the source of the original problem, game design requires real problem solving, not band aids.

in my opinion, valve should stop trying to act like its competitive with valorant, its not, people play cs because its cs, not because its like valorant, and trying to attract valorant players by making changes here and there to copy it or make it more accessible to valorant players is a waste of time and only reduces the immersion for long time cs players

what makes cs great is that the style and personality of the game arises naturally in the backdrop, when all the subtle things come together to make a smooth, immersive and non-distracting experience

what makes valorant different than csgo is its subsitution for that natural style and personality for a bunch of superficial and stereotypical personalities that are characters that you have to choose, and you get to pick your favorite, and all that stuff that appeals to people who are still searching for their personality. like 'look at me im so cool and edgy as this character', if i wanted that id go play valorant or overwatch (except not overwatch anymore because you know, its gone)

im worried this is going to be like another overwatch 2 situation.

The game looks way better overall
mr12 is better than mr 15 and mr 8
both the radial and new buy menu work well, really doesn't make a difference
they went a little overboard with the coloring of the levels and smoke
Valorant is a fun game. csgo players have a weird insecurity about it
ok yea, valorant is cool and fun too, we get it, lets keep it and its particular ideas far away from csgo, last thing we need is for things to become homogenized sludge with no personality

cs is a radically different game, and trying to excuse blatant attempts to adopt the style and personality of valorant is not okay, its an absurd notion.

Wouldnt that suggest that they arent c/p from valorant, but instead themselves.
Same problem. They are copying the bad stuff.
What are they sopying thats bad?
Another valorant copy... can't queue with a 4 stack.

Just came across that gem.

I know right! What are we even talking about? MR13 is amazing if you ask me! Valorant copied CS 1.6 and why would Valve not revert back to the way it was. 30 round matches can get so damn long. I rather watch a best of 5 on MR13 than a best of 3 in MR16. More maps more variety, more meaningful rounds. Simple as that! :csgo_gg::csgo_ez:

Match Round. :steamdeadpan: Basically MR13 is 13 rounds to win. MR16 is 16. MR13 just needs 24 rounds which would be a tie. We have one overtime in CS2. In FACEIT, we had unlimited overtimes and MR16. There was a pro match I think it was the Major actually with 5 overtimes. They all had a total of over 500 kills in one match. Imagine you had to pee really really badly in one of those matches. :spazhorror:
i aint worried about the mr so much as i am the style and feel of the game interface and the buy menu and loadout decisions.

oh and i dislike the 4 stack limitation, that is uncouth.

Removing 4 stacks from mm is one of the best thing they could have done.
Sucks for those who genuinely just wanted to play with friends but 4 stacks were often just trolls kicking the 5th person out of the game before it ended and stuff like this

then there needs to be a different solution, removing 4 stacks is a non solution, its just covering up the problem in a way that creates more problems, game design requires real problem solving, not band aids.
I agree with the player models and voice lines being pretty cringe and cartoony for CS, seeing scuba steve every game just triggers me, (i know these are in CSGO already and I didn't like them there either) and im not a fan of the after action screens most games seem to be doing these days now. the buy menu isn't bad once you get used to it but I would still prefer something more like 1.6 buy menu (I still miss having to buy ammo), I never liked the radial menu that was just left over from when CSGO started life as a console port of CSS and is clearly designed for controllers. matches being MR12 are from OG CS as well, wasn't Source MR12 as well?

I do not understand your point here. How is that a band aid at all? You cannot kick any single person in a team as a 3 stack if the 4th person does not agree with the 3 stack. It is simply a decent solution. What problems does it create at all. The only issue I see with it is that if you have only 4 people you usually play with you need a fifth or ditch one but seeing as we are so connected nowadays and there are always people you can invite from looking to play and recent matches finding a fifth player should not take you longer than 5 minutes. :steamdeadpan:
i don't like your opinion, i don't see it like valorant, being polished and clean is for visual appeal

Oh damn, I just realized it is called MR12, not MR13. I feel so stupid now. Well, I knew what it meant I was just off by one count. I think CS1.6, CS:S were both MR12. CS:GO is the only one in the franchise that has these long tedious MR15 matches. There was this 5x overtime pro match on Ancient not too long ago. They had a total of way over 500 kills in that match alone. I can no longer watch pros play Ancient anymore. I basically saw a frag from every angle you could possibly imagine in just one match...:steamdeadpan::lol:

Ey, and you can turn down the brightness quite a bit if you use the r_fullscreen_gamma command in the console. A value of 3 or 2.4 seems to be good for that. So, if you do not want to wear your pair of sunglasses while playing CS, use that. :steamhappy:
