CS2 Private match with friends not working

Whenever me and my friends try to play cs2 in a private match, the host connects, the rest get their lobby backdrop replaced with a black screen and eventually disconnect due to a "networking error", and when they try to join the host vie open party, it tells us the lobby is full. No bots, No cheats, sesssion is full.


EDIT: It's Sort of working now, you just have to have port forwarding set up, and I have noted some issues when hosting built-in maps, but workshop Maps work flawlessly.

EDIT 2: Yes, you still can't host private matches *normally*, but if you have access to your router config, then follow the steps in the link below. Like I said in the previous edit, built in maps are still mostly borked, but once you set up port forwarding, the Steam Workshop Maps work without a hitch (well, about the same as CSGO anyways).

IMPORTANT EDIT: Valve fixed friendly matches via practice with bots, but the comment i have marked as the solution still works and might grant you more control over the game

having the same issue. Only 1 friend can start a private match and hes not always on. 6 of us others have tried and no luck. Verified integrity of files and still nothing

no, not by choosing practise. We didnt try private matchmaking, that *could* work.

i dont think you can, only way there could be hope is by gathereing 9 other friends and try to q for a 5v5 in private matchmaking

It's broken i think, we just have to wait till valve fixes it

I think you have to start the game and send them the code to join. It’s now under private matchmaking not practice, if you join from a premade lobby it disconnects all but the host and you have to join back in.

yeh, myself and my son have been playing together with bots in CSGO for last 6 months and now ithat feature is gone. FFS Valve

You can still select the CSGO Beta for playing with friends. Not the best solution, but it works.
