CS2 surrender

How does surrender work in cs2? Today, i was playing a competitive match and we were leading 4-0. At the start of the next round, the score changed to 5-0 and the match was finished without warning (it counted as a win for me). Nobody left the game and got any cooldown. Was this some sort of glitch. Also, nothing popped up in the game chat.
