CS2 rubber banding/lag spikes possible fix.
Morning all, just sharing the solution I found to the lag spikes/rubber Banding I was experiencing within CS2 yesterday when like many received the beta invite.

First, I used cq_netgraph 1 to enable a rather rudimentary netgraph, this would show a lot of red blocks indicating packet loss. This happen whenever people would peek me, I moved around quickly, shooting/Grenade explosions, would also happen when I used in game Voice. It was the latter that got me thinking.

Checking windows firewall settings, only a rule for inbound communications was set by default, so I created a new rule for outbound communications to approve these for CS2.

Since then, my game runs great. Hope this may help any others having similar issues.

All the other suggestions such as changing max bandwidth, disabling MSAA had no impact.

Thanks. I tried this, it didn't help in my case, unfortunately.

Also, you said that the red squares represent packet loss, right? And the green ones represent good packets. Then what do all the extra squares that appear at times mean? Sometimes I have 1-2 extra ones, or some might be missing. I really want to know how to read this graph. I don't have any problems in CSGO or any other online game for that matter, but CS2 has constant 1-9 percent packet loss that I don't really feel, so the graph is the only way for me to be able to determine if the packet loss is actually real, or if this is just a bug between Steam and CS2. Btw, I already reported this to Valve, just hoping for a fix at this point. This is bound to be a bigger issue when the game releases to everyone, forcefully.

Did you restart your game after the firewall change? Or launch your game after the firewall change?

The other change i made which helped with stutter was in the AMD adrenaline driver suite, i manually added the game to the software and enabled anti lag. By default, the drivers only recognised the game as CSGO

Thank you, this works for me, and fixed the problems

this is from 2023.... but i still have had the problem with cs2...

first it was something to do with antilag 2.. i disabled it both ingame and in radeon program.

plus now for networking
go to settings and search for "jitter" and set the show network jitter to always.... you will have a graph on the top right side...
if the columns. stay on green then u should be ok.....if they go to red by little......then search in the options for "packet" and change the buffering to smooth over packet loss to 1 packet...if you still have red then change to 2 packets.... i hope this help you will the §"$%§$ game.

i set my on 1 with pretty high end pc....
