CS2 Valve Anti-Cheat challenge timed out

I'm getting kicked out of matches after a few rounds and I get the following messages in succession:


You cannot play on secure servers for one of the following reasons

• An issue with your computer is blocking the VAC system.
  
• You are unable to maintain a stable connection to the VAC system.
  
• You are running software that is modifying the game or is incompatible with VAC.

The above link does not work.

Then it says:

Valve Anti-Cheat challenge timed out. Please ensure that you are not using any programs that may interfere with VAC, and confirm that Steam is correctly installed.

I can verify game files, but that only gets me into another game for a few rounds, then I get kicked out again. So far I've tried disabling closing MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner running anymore (and the overlays wouldn't work anyways). I don't think there's anything else really running. Any ideas on what is causing this?

it is some type of cheat, that was more common in cs:go. it is like where you get kicked from the server by the cheater so you can't join back which make them win because you left the game.

Happens on deathmatch quite often. I think that someone figured out how to kick someone with a bogus message like it was possible in Modern Warfare 2.

Necessary necro because not enough people are talking about it.

Woah there, hold up! Don't get yourself worked up about this deathmatch stuff. Remember, VAC is built right into CS2, so there's no way any cheaters could be getting away with things like that. Sounds to me like you're just running into some weird glitches sometimes. Valve is constantly working hard to make the game perfect, so those little bugs will get squashed eventually.

I can say "♥♥♥♥♥♥" and how much I hate Israel whenever I want. That's about the good stuff.

Note that this only happens in Deathmatch, not anywhere else.

It's great to hear you're still keeping a positive attitude! Matchmaking can be a little frustrating sometimes, but trust me, Valve's got everything dialed in. Those developers are absolute geniuses!

I understand your frustration, man. Getting stuck in lobbies with suspected cheaters can be super annoying! But hey, remember that Valve is always working hard to keep CS2 as fair and fun as possible for everyone.
