Move autoconfig to the ...\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\core\cfg
It will also start working through the startup parameters

I had the same problem and figured it out. Even though it may say .cfg, you need to go into whatever autoexec or cfg you created and under "save as", save file type as "all file types". This fixed my issue
file must be named autoexec.cfq, can't custom like csgo

The easiest way is to copy a cfg file already in that folder then put whatever text you need and rename it. This way you dont need to put cfg at then end if your computer doesnt change the text document into cfg after making a text document .cfg. You can send the config folder in discord to see what type of file it is after changing stuff around.

Solved the issue by the following steps:

1. Check that the path is correct:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg
2. create a textfile "autoexec.cfg"
3. Load the game and open Console > Type: exec autoexec

If it still doesn't work then you MUST do the following:
4. Change the name of the "autoexec.cfg" file to: "autoexec" (remove the .cfg)
- this becuase it default filetype is .cfg already. Which means that it was called: autoexec.cfg.cfg.

One thing is missing for the autoexec file:

The coding/encoding needs to be in UTF-8.

So go to "Save as", "All files", Encoding "UTF-8". Save it in the already above mentioned folder and put it into the start commands.

You must be putting your config on something like :

where it should be like (because cs2 have a bif different folder than csgo) :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg

do notice the "game folder inside the counter-strike global offensive folder"

please spit in my food? you're the only person on any forum I've been on that has identified my problem
