A Kind of FAQ for CS2 and Possible Solutions to Problems

With the arrival of September 1st, many players (including myself) were given access to a limited test, and naturally, it didn't come without problems.

In this thread, I've gathered possible solutions to issues and answers to frequently asked questions. Before proceeding, make sure you have Windows 10 version 20xx or higher and aren't using corporate builds of Windows 10/11, as they often conflict with CS2. Also, ensure that your PC is free from viruses or cluttered with unnecessary programs/junk.

CS2 doesn't start, and there's no error message.
-- In this case, check if the game starts directly through the directory. Navigate to the CS2 folder, go to game/bin/win64, and launch cs2.exe. If it starts successfully, add "-vulkan" without quotes to the launch parameters (remove any previously specified launch parameters). You can also set compatibility mode to Win7/8/10 in the properties of cs2.exe.

CS2 doesn't start and shows an error with damaged or missing game files.
-- Here, verify the integrity of the installed game or wait for a fix from the developers. As a last resort, reinstall the entire game.

Why does CS2 have lower FPS than my CSGO? Valve has messed up again with this game.
-- CS2 hasn't officially been released yet, and the game has transitioned to a new engine, which inherently requires a more powerful computer. You can try updating your graphics card drivers to the latest version or simply lower the graphics settings. P.S. In CSGO, the command "fps_max 0" without quotes helped me with FPS issues, but it seems this trick doesn't work well here. So, my friends, let's wait for better optimization, or maybe it's time to upgrade our PCs from the bottom up.

The console doesn't appear.
-- In the launch parameters, try adding "-console" without quotes. If the console still doesn't appear, a restart may solve the issue. Try bringing the console to the forefront or changing the resolution; the console might reappear in a more accessible location.

Instead of text, I see a "group of text."
-- Remove "-language" from the launch parameters.

When I click the left mouse button, the console keeps opening!
-- In the console, type "bind mouse1 +attack" without quotes.

In CS2, I can't switch to my knife and other weapons.
-- Click on the weapon window and change the weapon at the bottom window. P.S. I find the new weapon interface very inconvenient; the wheel was more user-friendly.

How can I see my FPS?
-- In the console, type "cl_showfps 1" without quotes.

How do I launch my old favorite (possibly) CSGO now?
-- It's easy. When you launch the game, Steam will offer you the option to choose where to start. If it doesn't, go to the game's properties and specify launching only CSGO.

How do I uninstall CS2 now? "It takes up an extra thirty gigs of memory :("
-- You probably won't be able to uninstall it through the directory or by completely reinstalling the game. Only through support can you opt out of the limited test. As a last resort, delete CS2 from the directory and switch to another account :).

Well played my first MM game and the game mechanics are so weird
the sound design is weird as hell

played on inferno and someone was spamming his SG 553 and i was in banana and the guy was clearly shooting from mid pit ( i saw the bullets ) guess what ? i was hearing the shots like the guy was behind me on B site shooting towards CT side ..

i got an amazing hyperx cloud alpha and i don't have any hearing problems so well idk how to fix this


i played AK mainly and well i couldn't spraydown the only way is taps or burst

the molly design is weird it's doesn't even look like flames really

finally THE BUY WHEEL !!! this menu sucks !

Go to settings and you can show the fps on top left
