We just have to wait to see what valve does,
Yep currently they are coding in their own system that does estimations/guesses to fill in missing server updates when the server is running at low tickrate. This leads to lots of issues as people mention above.
If they just went as is normal with 128 tickrate and good servers there would be lot less issues/
