CS2 Unstable as hell for my PC? Any tips or help? Thanks!
First of all, no my computer is not slow or has poor specs. It is although old and this may be the problem. The problems I am experiencing is heavy laggy spikes, freezing my entire computer for several seconds and sometimes minutes. If anyone has any tips on how to improve my games stability, settings, cmds and etc please share.
My computer specs are the following:
Motherboard: X9DR3-F (more or less same as X9DRi-F)
GPU: Titan X
CPU: Intel E5-2670 0 2.60 GHz 2x (I have two cpus)
RAM: 64gb with DDR3
SSD: Game is on an SSD SATA 3.0 (My OS SSD is low on space, maybe this is the problem?)
OS: Windows 10
RES: 1920x1080

As you can see, it is not a "poor" pc. It may be old in some aspects but it still delivers good performance. I can although experience problems with games that are poorly optimized for older specs such as mine, but I usually have no problems playing games at all.
Whenever I play CS:GO I hit normally around 250-300 fps without problems. With CS2 I hit instead ~100-120 and the mild lag spikes (that only affects the game and does not freeze the computer sinks the fps to 60). My GPU is roughly around 80% of usage when playing CS2.
If you have any tips at all, please share. I presume that its either the disk, old spec, or the game being unstable/not optimized. But if you have any suggestion such as settings or anything else that might relive the immense lag chunks/spikes, please TELL ME.

yeah cs 2 is looking like the death of cs for , can't keep a stable fps, not even 100 fps, always get fps drops and that is just awful

Averaging over 250fps on highest settings, 1080p.

I have the same problem.
Game seems to be run smooth but when I shoot the games stucks 1-2s.
Ingamesettings are set to low-mid.

My Setup:
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
32GB
AMD 5700XT
SSD
Windows 10

Uhh I'd say the two CPUs are the issue

Yes? What are you trying to say? Even though the CPU is old, it is good. The CPU development is slow, so even though the CPUs are over 10 years old they still produce power. For more clear perspective, these are multi core cpus that costed around 1.5-2k dollars when launched. It is not like GPUs, my GPU is even underpreforming my CPUs so thanks for nothing.

I can understand that the dual CPUs might be weird and raise an alarm, but it should not be a problem at all. Most games generally can't use two CPUs at the same time, so they will opt to using one instead of trying to use both. And I can also say that the CPUs are never peaked in performance, they lay around 20% so I don't see a problem here at all. But you could still be right. Maybe the game hasn't gone through enough bug fixes and gets confused somehow, but I don't think thats the case.

Sweden but I don't see the relevance

Yea I can agree but I don't experience any problems with maintaining good graphics (I don't even max my GPU). It is more like the game is not stable. Majority of the time I have good and stable fps without problems. But then I get these ridiculous lag spikes that ♥♥♥♥♥ the entire system. But it is not completed yet, so hopefully will they fix these problems for everyone. I'm just trying to gather something that can actually help me and make it possible for me to experiencing the game without raging over the spikes.

I figured the thing that lagged the entire PC. It is the Nvidia lag latency that is causing the problems and i guess that it is the old GPU or that my computer is slow and that causes the nvidia feature to ♥♥♥♥ everything up. But I still have big lag spikes in the game, or rather, I can play one game without bigger problems but then after that everything becomes lag spikes, making it feel like 15fps. So problem is half solved.

The game is definitely on the laggy side and isn’t optimized. But I would recommend a CPU upgrade too. Just because they aren’t “peaked” doesn’t mean that they aren’t inefficient compared to current CPU’s, and I’m certain any background tasks you have going on in the background aren’t helping at all.

There is more into CPUs than just clock speeds and core counts. Your CPU unfortunately does not play nice with Source 2. Source 2 is built to utilize modern CPUs and compliment their architecture. No lag, stutters, fps dips or anything weird in my end on i7 13700K which is modern higher mid tier processor. Everything is butter smooth and I get over 300 fps but I've limited it to 250 which is the lowest I've seen it dip; This way I don't get fluctuations and it feels same all the time.

Yea you are right, I know that they optimize to newer gens, I just hope that they serve some respect to the older components and make it possible for PCs like mine to still be able to play. I have though noticed that It has improved, probably the recent bug fixes/updates. And yes, I am already looking for better CPUs. I checked the minimum specs for CS2 and saw that my clock speed is just barely the minimum so I presume that this is the mayor problem. Like it is with most of games, especially modern games. The slow clock speed. But thanks for the respond anyways.

The other problem is also, I can't just buy a new CPU. Then I would need an entire new computer, which costs a whole lot and this computer still serves its purpose well in other tasks. Lets just hope that CS2 continuing with optimization and improvements so I can play it functionally.
