Linux for CS2?
I just got an invite to the limited test on Linux, so I assumed that the game had released the beta for Linux too, amazing.

However after downloading the beta it didn't launch, I took a look and it is in fact a Windows depot, okay so let's run it with Proton, that kinda works but there are VAC issues.

Can we get an actual native Linux build Valve?

There it's no way to run cs2 on Linux yet. There are no build for it yes if you want to play cs2 go on windows.

I've got it running now, it works under Proton if you make a few tweaks

I think it will work some stuff will be brokean and you might get vac errors or no steam logo after a while.

I found a workaround for the VAC errors, everything seems to be running fine atm.

Could you please share your tweaks? When checking the integrity of my game files, there are no issues. However, I cannot play due to the VAC prompt..

Well as the invite was given on the Linux client, that is kinda suggested.

so you think if you would login on win pc with your steam acc you wouldn't got invited?

It's more of a you would think there would be no invite on the Linux client if it wasn't officially supported, but it doesn't really matter anymore because there's a workaround that has the game running perfectly on Linux.

again they don't send invites on "specific game client" and its pretty normal for people have couple devices these days

not relevant. i hardly ever played CSGO on Windows and i also have an invite many months back. Linux version is already present and part of the actual CSGO Linux build but not accessible to run it. so you can be sure that Linux version will be available. but that is a pity that they think a Windows-only testing is enough and Linux users can wait forever.

Cs2 will be supported for Linux just that you guys have to wait or fix a dual boot system if you want to play it today.

Having a windows and a Linux beta at the same time it's really stupid.
