They will wait until the end of the ongoing Steam Strategy Fest event, which finishes on September 4 at 10 am Pacific time. Mark my words on that.

Plus, that would be 2 days before official launch of Starfield, which will require a lot of advertisement space on the store front page.

lol this didn't age well. Open beta is out right now... it started 6 hours ago... But the pleasing that refused to play comp and don't have an active comp rank won't get an invite till they play comp in csgo.

Cause it's not beta it's still a LIMITED TEST given to some ELIGIBLE PLAYERS so depends on your luck if you get it or not.

Open beta allows anyone to simply download and test the game. Not just selected lucky testers. Not even all prime users with rank cause that's still a requirement to fill that everyone can't. It literally is called "Limited Test" from valve's end. I am not saying an open beta will follow but people don't understand that this mass invite to limited test is simply not "Open beta".
