VAC was unable to verify the game session

Getting this error on both CS2 and CSGO, even after switching back to native linux executable for CSGO. My hope is that it fixes itself for me like it has been for these other people who got it randomly as well.

Exit out of steam, then enter back in steam. If all else fails, reboot your PC.

Verifying game files, restarting steam, and rebooting PC all seemed to fail me here. People were saying that there was likely some VAC update on Valve's end that broke something, which I see as likely considering the TF2 ban wave from about a week ago. It could be that something is up with VAC not liking Linux (even though I'm running on Arch, which the Steam Deck's OS is based off of), or something really strange with my game files. I might see if I can either get some sort of a dev response or support help in this matter, seeing as how CS:GO *is* officially supported on Linux.

There is another way one that worked for me when this error happen just play 1 full practice with bots match after it ends leave and search normal again.

Well for me was the only thing that worked so i guess try everything see what works for you.

I cant even join a practice match with bots, how did you fix it?

1. exit steam, and relog in
2. restart pc

I think it randomly just started working, maybe after an update/restart. Not a clue as to what fixed it.

Blud said the most obvious and useless answer he could have said... I tried even more than you could think... I tried every fix, restarting the PC, restarting Steam, verifying cs2 files, repairing steam library, and repairing the Steam services exe file with the windows cmd window, but nothing.

Just go to CS2 proprietes from steam and verify the integrity of all files 2 times

It took a year for someone else to have the same issue. I never figured it out, and I deleted the game because I gave up until I redownloaded it a while later. (IIRC though, there might have been a widespread issue with this not just on Linux, and it could just be Valve's servers borking out)

I'd look into it maybe being something with your GPU compatibility. I heard nvidia got a pretty big update recently, and I know AMD's vulkan layer on Linux has a lot of issues.
