Can you actually get game banned for no reasons?

Considering i've invested a lot of money in the game and I keep hearing stories about users being banned by overwatch for not cheating or griefing I was wondering if I could just get randomly banned. (I know most of them are probably lying but it still scares me sometimes)

No, people complain about false bans in every community. They're just convinced that there's no way they could've been caught and that it must be a fluke.

Yes, it can happen. HOWEVER, it's extremely extremely rare. You're more likely to get hit by lightning than getting a false ban. If you are, it is usually removed within a week.

The people crying false bans are usually liars trying to get a bit more attention seeking points in before they abandon their account to do it all over again, or play legitimately.

Or they believe if they try lying they'll get unbanned. Trying to salvage whatever skins they can get back. Seen a few cheaters who tried crying false ban because their cheater account has tons of skins/crates that are now worth something and try lying hoping to cash out. Back when knives were as low as 50. Lol

Point is, don't listen to the majority of people who cry about being falsely banned. If you play legitimate you really have little to fear.

This is the only good answer i've seen to these type of threads: neither positive or negative - just straight truth. This should be marked as the answer to the thread.

Refer to Valerie's reply. False bans DO Happen, but are very rare.

FYI, Your ban isn't false if it surpassed 1-2 weeks. RIP Your bloodhound investments.
