Why don't they try to prevent smurfing?

I'm not good at this game, so I'm always stuck in silver. I don't think i have played a single game where there's not at least 2 smurfs in it. I don't know if the issue is common in high rank lobbies, but silver is pretty brutal for new or bad players.

If i'm ♥♥♥♥ at the game, I should be playing people that are also ♥♥♥♥. In other games from valve such as Dota, smurfing is bannable. So why don't they implement the same thing here?

As a side note, if you have to smurf to do good, maybe you need to accept that you wont be a pro, So stop trying to feel like it by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on lower skilled players. If you wanna feel special, go play casual.

They tried to combat it with Trust Factor. But thats often nearly useless and can be easly influenced/manipulated.

the problem is not smurfing, the problem is about rank system. Last year I was LE and i haven't played in a while, when I came back into the game csgo gives me Nova 3 :) GOOD JOB VALVE

Yea thats what they tell themselves to feel like its ok. If I'm silver 3, I will face Silver 4 or Elite which is how the game intends for you to improve on your skills. Slowly face better and better players to improve as you go, instead of playing against the top tier playerbase from the start lol

Wrong.

Smurfing is intentionally playing on lower ranks.

You could also be considered a smurf if you've an alt account you play on (which is similar to the rank of your main tho) or are unintentionally lower ranked (because for example of rank decay) but in both cases you are not a smurf.

Smurf is meant to ne a term for negative activity.

Cheater, no matter if playing on a lower rank, alt acc or whatever, are just cheater. And may play on a throw away acc. But that is NOT a smurf. Smurfs don't cheat, just are better player than the enemies.

The problem is that personal performance doesn't matter and thus people who are playing above average won't necessarily rank up. Because they only rank up if the team ties or wins.

If valve would change that people who smurf would rank up way faster, reducing the amount of smurfs.

It's taken so long thanks to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheaters just to get to mg again and it's a literal ♥♥♥♥ show

I see your matchhistory. You are getting good stats. And ranked up quite fast because you won most games. I doubt you now as MG1 play against many chester. I just think you are unlucky with your teammates. If personal performance would matter more you'd be MGE or so for sure already.

In the post, i say multiple times that i know that I'm not good. Just because i'm not good doesn't mean I want to play against people purposely playing against easier opponents so that they can get a clip or two and think they're pro.

I get your point, but it is not easy to learn from players who don't give you the chance. The game tries to face you against slightly higher skilled players for this reason, but smurfing isn't the same situation.

matchmaking is just really bad, also some of the "smurfs" youre playing against are just people who are hardstuck in silver that are struggling to rank up to nova, or unranked players from valorant or other fps games, just people that are already going to be decent in general.
