Team damage when in a FULL 5 man queue should be disabled.
Let me first say I think friendly fire is perfectly acceptable if you are in anything other than a 5 man in CSGO matchmaking. I think team damage is a staple of this game (1G's in the chat). However being plucked out of the game and and massively handicapping a Full team isn't fair.

But With CS2 coming and valve sharing the competitive shooter space and finally having to innovate after being carried by 3rd party match making services I think this is something they should add to their list to look at. If they want to make their MM more competitive.

ONLY IF YOU ENTERED THE QUE WITH ALL 5 SPOTS FILLED.

Real world example get the tissues ready.. because it just happened to me (rage-post.exe)... T side pistol round inferno - I buy a HE and throw the worst HE meant for top of mid I have ever thrown in my life. I hit the corner wall (right next to mexico) cus I strafed like a scrub at last second. It bounced right back into my entire team (i was first one out). I do a BOAT load of damage to my friends then get shot in the head (right call buying the HE terrible execution) My squad clutch up and won the round. Thank god.

We proceed to win the next 10 of 12 rounds round straight its its like 11 to 2. We're playing well I take my spot on t stairs with my AK my team runs up mid and right as boiler peeks my friend jumps in the line of sight and I head shot him aiming for the boiler peek and I get a 30 minute temp ban for damage.

I accept it was my stupid fault and that HE was the large reason why I had so much team damage stacked on me but because I was kicked they ended up losing 16-14. CT sided inferno 4 v 5. Kind of a hard ask. But CSGO is a momentum game and it definitely energized their side and deflated ours.

IDEA'S

Maybe you can implement one of these games idea's into csgo

-Valorant doesn't have team damage I dont think. Awful for csgo
-Rainbow 6 has reverse friendly fire. ehhh
-Penalize team killer VIA (end of game drops). (Prob fix TK'ing insantly).
-Reward the killed teammate with the team killers round reward essentially doubling their $.
-Maybe make it so every round you do 0 team damage it reduces your total team damage value by X. So bad play is penalized and good play rewards you.
-Have a forgive option. If you hit it in time it doesn't count towards your teammate.

So let's say you're a full 5 stack and not penalised for team damage, how is that fair for the other team that may not be a 5 stack and is therefore penalised for team damage?

Sounds like a way people could get away with intentionally deranking. Sit in spawn and just tk each other until the game is over with the fear of being put on cooldowns/kicked too soon.

Yes they all sound like aweful suggestions that would be easily manipulated into throwing/greifing matches.

The current system is fine, be careful where you shoot, I've never received a cool down for team damage in 3k hours.

So grouping derankers into less games and therefore hurting less people who dont want to derank is a bad idea?

I feel like its the same logic as playing 5 solo ques vs a full team of friends who have been playing games for 20 years? How is that fair? I get what you're saying though increase team damage then idk.

Yeah and this is my first in 2.5k. Valve isnt perfect because they're the only fish in the pond anymore I think its time for them to innovate again.

The fact you say this makes me feel like I hit the nail on the head. You just want to derank with your friends, waste people's time, and then get to a rank that's so easy you guys can just ruin the experience for people.

I personally hated vs'ing people who were intentionally deranking/sitting in spawn/etc. It was a huge waste of time and boring as hell. On top of that it would always put us at risk for boosting for Overwatch reviewers 'cuz sometimes we'd bump into the same 5 people multiple times.

Sorry but thats incredible stupid. There is a reason why faceit enabled team damage again, because people abused it.

So you want that 5 man stacks can throw fire and are allowed to walk through it, but the enemy cant? Really fair.

Probably because you don't care about how this would help derankers ruin the game for other players. Hence the fact I come to that conclusion. Most people wouldn't tolerate this type of behavior that allows people to get into ranks well below their actual just so they can stomp the competition for fun.

And you want that 5man lobbies have an even more of an advantage..

Speaks volumes that I dont solo que. That I 5 que and only try and win? IDK how people can solo que if deranking is still a massive issue. I did not think it was still a huge issue. It was just a post to think about innovating in a space that has alot of competition and different ways of handling TKing.
