They put moderation on the community instead of having an in house moderation crew, which would have more accountability.

It got removed when the cases went up in price and cs2 came out, that tells you valve removed it bcs of people farming XP to sell the cases when dropped, and trust factor to get to the beta. Valve doesn't care about their players that much like you guys saying bcs of false bans, it's all about money, always has been, and always is going to be.

What are you even talking about? The change to case drops happened long after OW was removed

Because it was useless. Valve used it because they couldn't be bothered actually moderating the game themselves, so they just banned everyone who were overwhelmingly considered to be cheating.

The new option we have now is valve just doesn't ban cheats at all.

and now what? just because they implemented the case drop from xp 3 months later makes his reasons invalid? it would be blatantly dumb to remove ow the same time you implement this system. Because then even people like you would realize it's all about the fkn money ...

You should understand why Overwatch was even a thing to understand the reason why they removed it.
1- they wanted to feed VAC with data from overwatch cases so the Anticheat becomes better at detecting cheaters, at the same time get rid of them manually.
2- Some people (People who sell cheats and cheaters) abused the system by submitting
every case as a Insufficient Evidence.
3- Now we have VAC live So maybe there is no need for Overwatch
