Testing Counter Strike 2: Impressive Graphics, Poor Performance

Hi everyone,

Recently, I had the opportunity to test out Counter Strike 2 and was blown away by the impressive graphics. However, I'm experiencing some concerning performance issues on my laptop. My laptop specifications are a Helios 11800h with a 3070 140W and 2x8GB of RAM, yet I'm struggling to achieve 100fps. This is confusing to me since I can easily run Counter Strike Global Offensive with max graphics settings and consistently achieve 300+ fps on the same laptop.

I'm curious if anyone else is facing similar performance issues with their laptops while running Counter Strike 2, and if so, have you discovered any solutions? It's worth noting that during gameplay, the CPU and GPU usage seem lower than expected, almost as if the game isn't recognizing the capabilities of my laptop's hardware.

I would be grateful for any tips, suggestions, or insights that may help resolve this issue. Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind that you are playing an early beta version, when source 2 update gets a release this summer, the optimization's gonna improve and it will probably be on par with the current CS:GO.

cmon i didnt even get into the beta even tho i have every factor that u need to get in alot of playtime recently 165 hours in the latest 2 weeks 10 year vet badge and good trust factor :( sad

Are you absolutely certain that Counter Strike 2 is running on your discrete graphics card and not your integrated one?

Being a laptop with switchable graphics, sometimes the OS doesn't know which graphics card to assign to which program. You can manually choose in the NVidia Control Panel.

Probably more powerful than your computer, unless you you play Poker and CSGO on a desktop 3070.

nevermind guys, the issue was related to drivers, now I can go maxed out again 300+ fps thanks all

I think the graphics is way too good for a competitve game like it can become distracting
