CS2 is just CSGO but on the source 2 engine. There's more to come to the game down the line with the source 2 treatment which many players wanted for a long while. CSGO now as it is has optimisation issues. Source 2 will definitely fix that even if sys req are going to be slightly higher than previously.

CSGO on twitter never claimed it was a sequel. They just said it's an update. (Saying this because there are people comparing OW2 to CS2 when they're both different games. One was claimed to be a sequel however, the other did not claim to be one.)

They are comparing it to overwatch 2 because it's getting rebranded by changing the name from CS:GO to CS2.
