Got CS2, Can't play. VAC issue

1st I couldn't even open the game, but was able to after opening it in the steam folder in program files. Now that it's open that way, it gives me the VAC message "Some of your game files have been detected to have no signatures or invalid signatures. You will not be allowed to join VAC secure servers. Please verify your launch options, check correctness of your game installation, restart the game and try again."
I feel like I've tried everything.

i have this same issue, my issue was resolved by doing the following:
Repair the Steam Service
The error may also indicate a Steam service failure. Please try repairing the Steam service:
Exit Steam.
Click Start > Run (Windows Key + R).
Type the following command: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\SteamService.exe" /repair
Launch Steam and test the issue again.
Note: This command requires administrator privileges and may take a few minutes. If you have installed Steam to another path, please replace C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam with the correct path.

HOWEVER, i wanted to see if csgo still works and it did, but now when i open cs2, it gives me the same error as before... the only thing i can think of is that i have launch options for csgo, but not for cs2, i tried removing the launch option in csgo, but it still did not help.

-> Unmark "Run file as Administrator" - the cs2.exe
-> Disable Overlay from Discord and Nvidia Experience app

After all this I had my first MM game in Counter Strike 2 against "real" players and the prompt about VAC Valve AntiCheat is gone.

i fixed mine a couple days ago. saw this thread is still running.. initially windows told me all my graphics drivers were up to date. but then i checked again through the nvidia app and they weren't. so that was the problem.

Right click Counter-Strike 2
Click "Properties"
Click Compatibility
Untick the "Force the use of a specific steam play compatibility tool"
Then launch the game

I think the entire time it was proton adding new files to the directory or something related to that.

Reinstall the game or verify all game files, it should do the trick, fixing your problem.

dude why is this thread being bumped. it's already been fixed as i said. how do you see a thread from months ago? been fixed for almost a year.
