Validation error - CS:GO "1 file fails to validate"

Every time I validate my CS:GO game files I get the error message that "one file failed to validate and will be required"

I'm sure that this file is Direct X because when I try to play to game afterwards, steam re-downloads the file so that it can run the game. This doesn't happen if I don't validate my files.

I'm not sure how to fix this problem. Any ideas?

CS:GO has been extremely laggy and stuttery (along with all of my other steam games, but particularly CS:GO) I think Direct X may be causing the problem and this is why I asked. I should have mentioned this before but I wrongly assumed that this 'failed validation' issue was causing a problem for everyone else.

when I sometimes check the game files, I get the same error. You can try to check again and you won't get an error with "1 file fails"

those things always happen after verifying game files and can be ignored

Oh okay. I guess I should have mentioned that this is a new thing for me and CS:GO has been running poorly since it started. Since it's new for me, I automatically assumed that it's been causing a problem for everyone else.

CS:GO has been extremely laggy and stuttery lately. Totally unplayable.
