CS: GO tournaments, fake or real?
Hello guys. I recently bought some expensive stuff at the market and since then I've been getting friend requests from random people. After a few days, they will PM to me whether I want to participate in the tournament in CG:GO, or whether I want to vote for their team (what the hell would anyone need that for). If I agree, they send me a link to the CS: GO tournament webpage (when I open the webpage for the first time, it is blocked by my antivirus). When I open the webpagepage a second time, it is OK, but nothing can be done unless i log in via Steam. There is no any information. Webpages always lead to Russia (WHOIS).

The last few links - playcybers, csgamingzone.

I just want to know if this is a scam. If so, I want to inform other people so that no one becomes a victim of a scam. it's just suspicious as hell...

Thank you guys. I know it's dangerous to log in to unverified sites. Of course, I searched the internet and it seems that this is an old but still re-emerging scam. Unfortunately, google didn't find these helpful tutorials for me on Steam. As I said, i checked the website, but I didn't find a single bad review, which surprises me...

then you sould know that you shouldnt click on links that random people send you. just know that expensive skins attract scammers, and they'll use various tactics to try to steal them. dont trust anyone :)

You do know you can hover a link to see what it is, when sent in email? Typical phishing as well, requires the site to ask you to login (so this is when they get your password for the account). Highly doubt a virus payload on the link/site

Understood, but he most likely ok, most systems have at least some minimal level of antivirus that would have caught a payload. With phishing, it is always about them getting access to the account and that requires the account owner to hand them the credentials
