No drops?

Anyone else notice a lack of drops in the past few days? I haven't seen any in probably 3 days for anyone and didn't get one when I ranked up the other day.

Edit: for those too lazy to read the comments, I have over 4700 hours and know how drops work.

You only get a drop when you rank up the first time per week. Week resets some time on Wednesday.

You can see if you will get a drop from ranking up or not by hovering over your XP bar.

2 drops per week, 1 box + 1 random sh*t. Ranks, lvl... doesn't matter.

Thank you for that astute observation. In all my years and hours played, I did not know that there were weekly updates/resets every Tuesday. I don't know what I would have done if you had not let me know such important information. (/obvious sarcasm)

My point was that I usually see someone get a drop every day and for a few days, I didn't see anyone (or myself when I ranked up) get a single drop, which I found to be odd.

Drops started working today, so whatever update/reset they did worked. Not for me, but hopefully I will get my drop when I rank up AGAIN.

If you were in the middle of a match when the reset took place, you will get it after your next rank up since the previous one technically happened/started before it took place.

Could be a delay sometimes that can happen, even restart the game will fix that and give you the iteams. Sometimes you have to wait a bit longer. delay are rare but can happen, bc valves servers cant keep up sometimes, hade a delay or what just down, while you ranked up :)

i prefer using old system, when each person can get drops almost every week... with new system right now, not every week you got the drops... only my personal opinion...
