That's how it works - after 40 levels you get a medal and start grinding again. Unless you're talking about match making rank, that's decaying if you won't play for a month.

Then you're talking about your rank not level, and you need to play at least once a month to keep your rank from decaying (being decreased). All you have to do to see a rank again is just to play another match,

Last week I was playing and I leveled my rank up to 31 then less than 3 days later I go to play again and rank one

You confusing a match making rank (Silver, Eagle, Global Elite, etc.) with a levels (1, 5, 15, etc.) that you achieve to get a medal at level 40. Your CS inventory is private so it's hard to tell if you had received medal or not.

That's why my post says my level reset. I'd only played deathmatch so my matchmaking rank never goes up I was at level 31 last week, now I'm at level 1

Good you unprivated your inventory - I see you got a medal on July 20. So that's what caused level reset. If you say you was level 31 last week, that means something glitched on you, but in a positive way. Thanks to this glitch you get a medal earlier. Or maybe you have another account and you confused them?
