Noob question about Agents.

I've been finally truly getting into CS:GO after having it for awile and have been having fun after not, well.. being ♥♥♥♥ at the game.

Nah who am I kidding still ♥♥♥♥ at the game.

But I've got a question for you guys because, I saw this tab in the market and got curious. What.. are agents? Apparently they allow you to permanently select a character model across all of your games instead of the randomly selected CT/T models across different maps?

If that is the case, how do I get them? Some of them are quite cheap, some are reasonably priced and others are pretty damn expensive for 1 character. Basically what I'm asking is..

What are agents, can I get them anymore or are they only on market, and is cosmetic value all they have? Also, say I was interested in grabbing one, would the differences really stand out enough to matter much or should I just stick to gun skins?

Yes, its character models. Its value - same as weapon skins - cosmetic, but not at all. Agents have different hitboxes (models sizes), so you can choose agent with smaller head to get a little bit advantage. Here is the table[docs.google.com]. Agents at the top, with rating = 1, are the smallest ones.
Also you can apply patches, on agents skins. Patches - is a part of clothing, same as stickers for weapons, but it is stickers for agents.
You can't get agents for free, like skins with in-game drops. Only way you can get it - from operations. But you should buy operation pass, for it. So better just buy agent skin on market, if you want it.

Agents are just cosmetic for you character. That's it. They also change the 1st person model and the voices from voice coms. You can only buy them right now from the steam market but in the last 3 operations, shattered web broken fang and riptide you could earn them, in shattered web you needed to level up your battle pass with stars to get 4 random agents in all the qualities. In broken fang and riptide you bought them from the operation shop with stars. You could choose what tier you wanted to get but not the specific agent (ofc there had to be gambling elements there)

they are criminally cheap. Compared to so many somewhat boring weapon skins, all of the agents are highway robbery cheap
