CS:GO on SOURCE 2
Mentions before the announcement

-The first information about the engine began to seep into the Web even before the official announcement: for example, in 2012, when browsing the files of Source Filmmaker, Valve's tool for creating cinematic videos on the first Source engine, players found a file mentioning the name "Source 2" (the file could have ended up in build of the toolkit due to the fact that the company was simultaneously working on supporting the new engine with the toolkit); later, several more references to the engine name were found in Valve's product files, which were then removed by the developers.

-In November 2012, company founder Gabe Newell announced that the company was developing a new engine. At that time, active work was already underway on the "Valve Computer" - a series of Steam Machines gaming computers controlled by the SteamOS operating system.

-In August 2013, fans of the game Dota 2 from the community on the social resource reddit were invited to tour the Valve office; pictures of employees' workplaces were taken, on one of the screens there was a page of the internal network of employees of the company with the mention of the words "Source 2" and "Left 4 Dead 3". In October of that year, Valve's bug tracking system (based on JIRA software) was leaked, resulting in access to project lists and teams into which employees were divided; among them were groups with names: "Source 2", "Source2 Artists", "Source2 Builds", etc. (numbering from 2 to 45 people), which served as the basis for assumptions that Valve was actively working on a new engine.

-At the end of January 2014, a NeoGAF forum user posted a screenshot of an engine presentation (labeled "Source 2.0") created in PowerPoint (presumably in 2011). It shows a heavily reworked and improved Plantation location from the Swamp Fever campaign in Left 4 Dead 2, recreated in the new version of Source. The authenticity of this image has not been verified.

-In March 2014, Gabe Newell revealed during a hosted Q&A session on Reddit that the development of the engine was focused on being able to use it to create user-generated content (such as mods) as well as to interact with user-generated content. content. - later it resulted in free technologies and support for virtual reality (including using the Oculus Rift helmet).

-On August 7, 2014, Valve released the Dota 2 Development Tools, which include an updated version of the Valve Hammer Editor 2014[30]. Several references to Source 2 have been found in instrument files, and the standard .vmf (Valve's map file) files for storing projects are now named "Source 1.0 Map File". Later in December, Valve announced on the official Dota 2 blog that they planned to port the game to the Source 2 engine in early 2015.

NOW

-The game will be released under the name Counter Strike 2
-All servers at the start will receive a tick rate of 128
-The matchmaking system will be improved
-Most likely, the game will not work well on low-end PCs
-The public beta is said to be scheduled for March, but the deadline is very symbolic - April 1st.

GL Guys.

Low-end PC nowadays should be more than enough to run CSGO at over 100FPS at 1080p easily. if you mean like PC that are over 10 yo that's ancient. I remember buying 50$ APU and it ran CSGO like 97-200 FPS in full lobby DM. The game will likely still run just fine if you have CPU that aren't like from from gen 2-3 intel.
