CS:GO Source 2 is a bad idea
Well in my opnion csgo source 2 will be a bad idea like, people keeps saying that "OOO BETTER GRAPHICS BETTER SKINS, MAPS AND EVERTHING" but everyone just plays on the lowest graphics just for more fps, so i really wan't to know why everyone is so excited for this update or game and also some people doesn't even have a good pc to play csgo with the best fps

means more tick rate, from 64 to 128. thats 1, secondly, better optimitation, wich mean the game is gonna require less requisites to play, and will see beter, and last one, skins prices. now is the moment of investing. (except navajas, dont buy those)

It's 2023. I've had my PC since 2013 and over the last decade, I have upgraded my hardware a few times and I don't feel like my gaming experience should be forced to stagnate because others wish to live with a potato for the rest of their days.

Keeping and maintaining a PC is not difficult, nor does it require extreme wealth. My PC is not high end in regards to what is currently available (specs on profile) and I had no issues with any game I play nowadays.

If you have a job, a little expense once in a while will go a long way towards doing what I have done. Though I feel too many people pay far more and go with a laptop, then wonder why performance is poor versus similar desktop specs, despite spending double, if not more.

And for the record, I play CSGO on max settings, with my fps capped to my monitor's refresh rate (144hz), because logic.

ur forgetting that source is spaghetti code and they have used almost everything they can do to make something work on source. source 2 allows for more opportunities

better engine better optimisation better performance.

i dont think so. Take a look at dota2 update, they managed to make the game looks better for high spec pc and runs better in low spec pc and laptop

btw source 2 is supposed to utilize all cpu cores so your framerate is probably going to be bottlenecked by your gpu more

Think about this, csgo are using a source engine that come out 2004, so when csgo trying to use that engine they cant really do so much bc its old, so update to source 2 will give better perfomance, smoother gameplay and even more game stuff like more high end operation and stuff like that. Csgo right now its so limited it cant really do that much against cheaters or gameplay vise.

So source 2 will fix that by ofc giving a better grafik but now the video settings are actually doing something so low end pc can get more fps out off the game :)

bad thing is "mods + addons" would not work anymore on dedicated server after CS2 upgrade.
Do we even have a dedicated server, tough. Many new games move dedicated server to behind rent/subscription ,

They will work, they just update the sourcemod. not sure about the other part you are talking about.

But to be honest, even though people have glorified this update to be some major performance boost, it isn't, atleast yet. Hopefully it will get better later, but as of right now, playing CS2 without a gaming setup is a pain. The old computer I had was able to play the game min. 80 fps, and it's around 30 fps in cs2 at the lowest settings. It doesn't look promising. Maybe they will be able to resolve that issue or make it better, but as someone who has played most of their life on toasters, I feel the pain of anyone that's in that situation.
