Spinning AFK in Arms Race
I've barely touched CS:GO in the past 8 years or so, but recently I played it again. I was playing Arms Race and there were lots of people sitting AFK, spinning.

Are they bots? Why is this a thing?

Huh, that makes sense. Do they use an external program to do this or is it just in-game console commands?
I take it it's not something you can get banned for with so many people doing it.

No you won't get banned for it. They farming case, a new one called "Revolution case". It was released this night. just type +left in console if you want to farm too and -left to stop rotating)

They are farming cases (new release yesterday). But people usually use community servers for that.
They spin because they used +/- left/right in the console. But i remember right (atleast in matchmaking) they changed something and you still get kicked unless you really move (w, a, s, d)

Doesn't seem like it. I had people in Deathmatch too just spinning and no one got kicked. Fair enough though. Thank you all for the explanation.
