csgo's player count is embarrassingly small compared to the big hitters in gaming these days (fortnite for example has 80 million monthly players)

however, csgo has proven to have longevity and a core timeless formula that just works, and with all the various updates it keeps receiving, it stays fresh and novel

if we go by stats like player count, then csgo definitely is NOT the best game, it's nowhere close if we go by numbers alone

you COULD bring up all sorts of good points about csgo, but a fan of any game can raise a list of good points

the more objective measure will be the numbers, and unfortunately, csgo gets blown away by a lot of other games if we judge by the numbers

there's only one thing csgo is the best at = skins/stickers

if you look at the versions of cs that don't have skins, the player count is abysmal

a few people in this thread have nominated 1.6 as the best game ever, but fortnite literally has x1000 the player base of 1.6

cs without skins isn't even in the conversation

csgo is a contender for longevity BECAUSE of skins, don't underestimate the influence skins made on the popularity of csgo
