Is a stattrak knife worth it?

You can literally get a better looking knife for the same price as you would get the stattrak one youre thinking of. Plus whenever you trade it the stattrak ♥♥♥♥ gets rubbed off anyway, stattrak knives arent as easy to trade UNLESS its high tier like a Stattrak M9 Doppler or something of the sort.

Probably has to do with the fact you're not going to be in a situation where you're going to be using your knife much, unless you're doing knife only matches. StatTrak knives are pretty much just for flexing on others (meaning you either have a lot of money or are extremely lucky if you have one), because they're extremely rare and much more expensive because of that.

But as to the original question you asked, it's purely up to you in the end. My recommendation is if it's a knife you're going to use a lot, go for the StatTrak, but if it's likely something you're just getting to add to your collection, just get a non-StatTrak variant unless you can spare that extra cost to get it StatTrak.

1.ST are harder to trade than their normal counterparts because of point 2.
2.ST has less demands as most people don't care about kills on a knife(you shouldn't too tbh)
3.ST are generally a lot more expensive compared to their normal counter part which limits your option
4.ST on knives generally have a much less impressive kill counter than compared to your ak/m4 which kinda of make st knives pointless imo

Stat track knives are kind of like minimal wear dopplers they're more expensive and nobody really wants them because you can buy a better non stat track for the same price

Pretty much the reason I'm mostly convinced StatTrak knives are just for flexing on others. If you've got one, you either have good luck or a lot of money, which are both major reasons to flex. Knives in general are mostly a flex thing, but the rarer ones have the most flex potential.

Also, do you know what I say if I see a Stattrak knife with 500 kills vs 5,000 kills? Nothing. Because I don’t care. And some people just farm knife kills on specific community servers made for that purpose, to inflate kill count. Sad and deceiving. But, if wasting money on garbage means something to you, then go right ahead.

I’m more impressed by a legit player who consistently plays well.
Also it’s cool to see a normal rare knife or weapon skin — no Stattrak required.
