Knife rounds in comp?
The pros do it, why shouldn't we? I've noticed that many maps have favored sides (Overpass, Cobble, Cache, Mirage, ect.) Nothing sucks more than starting on an unfavored side of a CS:GO competitive game. I think adding in a knife round before the game starts would be a fun and strategic way to start the game. Thanks for the read!

EDIT: To clarify, this knife round is meant to only chose the side of which your team will be playing on, not an actual round point on the scoreboard, also you will not keep any of the money earned this round. :)

Yeah unfortunately it wouldnt work. If your talking about a knife round before pistol, the money that the players will get from knifing would give them enough to skip the pistol and go straight onto buys. It would be to unbalanced and who ever loses the knife round would more then likely lose the game

If you've ever played faceit you would realise that after you win the knife round you dont keep the money and can chose either to stay or switch sides.

I know what knife rounds are but I just don't know how to get in them. Do I type in console? Do I need a certain rank? Can someone help me out? Thanks

Knife round is a Faceit thing and it determines who gets what side. The winner of the round gets to choose what side they start on first.

Matchmaking is different however, and I'm pretty sure they decide what side you're on based on ranks to try and balance things out.

Example
If you que up for Office MM and start on CT side, it means your ranks are higher than the T's 'cuz T side defense is EXTREMELY one sided.

And, how do you play on faceit?

It's a third party platform. You just go to the website, sign-up, register your game as CS:GO and start searching for games. When the que pops it gives you an IP and you copy and paste that into your CS console and you're in-game.

Some useful command I think can be used to make a knife fight game:
mp_ct_default_secondary ""
mp_t_default_secondary ""
mp_buytime 0
Then use this command to restart game once you type all of above in:
mp_restartgame 1
