Tethering Ping

Has anyone attempted to play CSGO on a smartphone tether? I
I mean on the slow connection. I'm currently on 15.6kbps and still have to download a full 1.7 GB patch to even attempt to play online like this.
I'm not sure if I should even bother.

I used up the high speed data... I'd only get 2GB which Ii'm guessing wouldn't last very long in an online match..

IIRC CS GO is like 100-300mb per hour depending on server tick

100 to 300 per hour? well, valve servers are 64 tick, right? so, it must be on the lower side of that. well, I guess it's worth a shot... I guess I can save up all my data exclusively for CSGO and get at least a dozen or so hours... hmmm.

ofcourse I still have to download that 1.7 GB patch...

Yeah my guess is it would be on the 100mb/hr side also for official MM servers xD

I guess try and download the patch overnight and hopefully it finishes.

Does your phone carrier only slam you with the speed throttle or will you also get overcharges? :(

I'm currently at a Starbucks trying to download TOTAL WAR: Attila. It's gonna be my first attempt at transferring a steam game from my little netbook to my gaming rig. I might also try to get something else. I already have CSGO on my main machine, just this patch...
