FPS drops cause 2-3 seconds lags. Any solution?
Hi guys,
as I wrote in title I got 2-3 seconds lags all the time, teleporting to some place few "meters" in front of me. I got then loss on 30-35% and it fall down and everything is well for some short time.

What can I do with it? I got windows 10, intel core i5 4200H (2,80 GHz), NVidia GeForce GTX860M. The performance is rather not a problem. I defragged computer, checked for any register problems and viruses. Also changed some nvidia 3D settings, changed windows settings to performance, set CS GO launch set up, etc.

Hope someone got some clues for me cause it's really annoying.
Greetings CS GO Players

Restart your router? Does the ping go up when this happens?

As above, does ping spike up? Or does your fps drop?

If wifi try to plug directly into router with a Ethernet cable.

Maybe also hard drive. Not sure if ran does this either if going bad.

I had a 5400 rpm hard drive and was going out. But I would get 1-2 second lags and then fine for 5 seconds or so. I redownladed the game onto a 7200 rpm external hard drive and it worked like a charm. Replace my hard drive eventually and game worked after that.

Does it do this as soon as you start game or after 10 minutes or so?

Make sure nothing is on in background. Also check temps? May be overheating.

Well when I start a game it works just fine (for every game) after a couple oh minutes which varies it starts droping to low fps and going back up after a couple of seconds...this is repeating.
Don't think something is running in the background but i will watch out.
I'm trying CPU-Z now will tell you when something appears :)

Yeah if every game then I would check your temps. Maybe also run a desk fan on it and see if that helps. Or at least makes it not lag a few extra minutes.

So i checked it:
Having no problems with temps but i still get fps drops.
Tried turning my 2nd monitor off but it still occurs...
Having no idea what could be wrong

try playing on lowest settings/lower resolution if it helps
how much ram you have ?
cad80_99 Jul 21, 2016 @ 6:08am
Well as said. If temps are fine, then check your ram? Another try would be if you have an external hard drive or another drive in PC to download the game to that and try.
