How does one disable the kill/death sounds and stuff like "nice kill" in deathmatch?

The title says it all. They're pointless, distracting and well, ridiculous. In worst case scenario you can't hear an opponent because of them.

go to the audio settings and turn them off?
You can probably look up more specific consol commands as well.

Apparently the ignorerad command works and disables the cheerleader messages, so thanks!

But nothing seems to disable the other sound effects. :|

Can you give an example if what you mean by "other sound effects"? I have a feeling you can just turn down some settings

I searched a bit myself and there used to be a solution via modifying a couple of script files, but for some reason an update included those files in the list of stuff you aren't supposed to modify, or else you get kicked from official servers.
