Does Statrak ruin knives?
Im looking through knives on the market and I cant help but see that Statrak knives are more expensive than regular knives. Which seems weird to me. You would assume they'd be cheaper since the moment you get a kill with one it basically ruins the pattern of the blade. Shouldn't Stattrak be cheaper because of that?

No, some people prefer to have their kills on their knife. ST knives are just kinda all over the place price wise

Price: a compound of supply and demand
A stattrak knife may have lower demand compared to non stattrak, but its supply is much more lower than non stattrak.

It's more rare as stattracks are 10% of all knives. The price could have been crazy high, but it's currently just about $20-$40 higher, proving that not everybody likes a stattrak knife.

There are exceptionals. For example the rust coat would look so much better in stattrak.

Stattrak's are more rare and harder to unbox from a case than a regular item+ stattrak knives are hard to trade

Example:If you had a FN Karambit Fade and FN Stattrak Karambit Fade, you could most likely have more people wanting the non-Statrak variant, correct?

Still supply and demand rule. We know that stattrak version is 10x rarer, so there are 10x supply of non-stattrak. If the demand of non-stattrak is just 4x of stattrak, then non-stattrak will have lower price that stattrak.

Still can't get over the fact that the pattern get ruined with Statrak. If Valve implemented a counter on the handle of knives, then it wouldn't seem so bad. Hell it may even raise their appeal of Statrak even further

Imo it only ruins the autotronics because they're one of those skins that are supposed to make the weapon look structurally different. A good example is the gut autotronic because the number gets scratched right on the little mesh grate on the blade.

Unless it's minimal wear or factory new it's probably already going to be scratched anyways.

i think so...why would some ST knives cost less than non ST

when i was trading for my BFK SLAUGHTER MW, all BFK's with ST were the cheapest....
